MagicBell

Optimale is a young spin-off start-up from Trumpf, a major machine manufacturer based in the south of Germany. Their idea: Create a SaaS that analyses and optimises construction parts – based on machine learning and the vast knowledge of their parent, Trumpf.

As with every early-stage, resources were scarce. Instead of creating a new logo, we were asked to iterate on the existing one and to create branding around it.

Optimate’s service is straightforward to use but immensely complex under the hood. As with most projects, we aim to communicate the value prop's essence right away. No visitor, no matter how small their attention span might be, should leave the site without a basic idea of what Optimate does.

To achieve this, we created a partly interactive before/after comparison, illustrating how construction parts turn from Inline Link tryout to lean and efficient pieces. Without reading a single word or scrolling, visitors get to understand what this service can do for them.

Custom illustrations of Optimate's features, together with a minimalist style, clearly inspired by technical drawings and line grids, convey an air of quality and professionalism. The overall reduced elements and sparse use of text add to the idea of an accessible user experience and an overall easy interaction with the service.

On the 'Optimization' page, we picked up the 3D renders and added an interactive and more detailed layer. Visitors can click through an example part to get a better idea of how Optimate achieves its reduction of material and costs.
