Optimale is a young spin-off start-up from Trumpf, a major machine manufacturer based in the south of Germany. Their idea: Create a SaaS that analyses and optimises construction parts – based on machine learning and the vast knowledge of their parent, Trumpf.
As with every early-stage, resources were scarce. Instead of creating a new logo, we were asked to iterate on the existing one and to create branding around it.
- The DIN font can almost be considered a natural fit. It is the German norm font, originally designed for industrial application in the 30ies and still widely used, e.g. for street signs on the Autobahn.
Optimate’s service is straightforward to use but immensely complex under the hood. As with most projects, we aim to communicate the value prop's essence right away. No visitor, no matter how small their attention span might be, should leave the site without a basic idea of what Optimate does.
To achieve this, we created a partly interactive before/after comparison, illustrating how construction parts turn from clunky chunks to lean and efficient pieces. Without reading a single word or scrolling, visitors get to understand what this service can do for them.
